What's up guys, sorry I haven't dropped by with some beats in awhile, we've been a little busy lately. I'll start by saying that I had a great time this weekend at Too Much Love (Sovietpanda's Saturday night first ave. dance party), Dan and friends were up from Carleton and it got pretty dirty down on the dance floor. Eau Claire Blowout

I'm happy to announce that last week Syse worked out a deal with the House of Rock in Eau Claire for us the throw a fund-raising balls-out dance party on the 13th of February. The show should be a ton of fun and I can't tell you how excited we are all getting to play some great new tracks and dance with everyone till they tell us to stop. Wonderous Punch

The weather has been nice and 2010 is off to a great start so far. The Vikings showed up to the playoff and are making a run, I feel like I've been skating more then ever and Dan, Syse, and I are planning some big shows to start the year off. Lots of News

Basic Physics is on the (internet) radio! You can stream online at www.krlx.org . Curme will be live DJing every Monday night from 9-10 for the dance show and 10:15-11:30 for the Hip Hop show. Check it out. The tracklist for the dance show will be posted on the blog (and on the krlx website) and we're still working out the podcast.

There are a few Basic Physics Crew, and individual DJ shows in the works in Minnesota and Wisconsin from the crew, Syse, Curme, and Mitch. We'll keep you posted on those.

Hello 2010!

Another great year in Minnesota down and with 2010 right around the corner I'm sure we all will be in for a lot of surprises. Dan and I have taken it upon ourselves to single handedly change how the midwest thinks about electronic/dance music by bringing great tracks directly to the people. Of course we will still slide in our favorite songs from all sorts of different genres, but stay tuned for more of our own work, maybe some contests and hopefully many more concerts this coming year. Syse, Dan, and I have been working hard trying to find our own sound, as well as getting some fun events set up for you all to come see.

Winter Break

Sunday night blues

Sunday evening in the GL, what is there to say? It's 10 degrees outside and my headphones are blaring. 16 days and 2 hours until Zoe gets in, but whos counting? Furnace broke at my moms house, that blows. Bout to chill with Mitch but wanted to hit yall with a few tracks for the start of the week.

The first is a remix of Aussies Bag Radiers by the very talented Cassian. We've featured both on the blog in the past. This is a really stellar, spacey-disco, remix of the great Shooting Stars.

The blog Basic Physics would like to introduce PLAFSKY. Mitch and I are together remixing tracks. We're chilling tonight in the GL and playing music with Mitch's tight 80s synth. Combined with some dubstep samples we made to a track, we added a Lil Wayne rap. This is not the finished product. Give us some feedback. Also the name PLAFSKY is a work in progress as well. We're thinking something that has to do with Science.

You Bananas

Checking in with some new tracks this evening for you guys, making the most of my Monday night. For everyone that got to go to the show in Madison on Thursday night I'm sure you will agree it was on awesome time. I can honestly say that was one of the most fun nights I've had In awhile and I'd like to thank Basic Physics DJ Alex Syse for putting on such a sick show and of course the Boombox guys who also rocked the Majestic that night. I had a brain storm today of setting up a dance party in Uptown once Syse returns from his Europe trip so give me some feedback and holler if you would be down with that. I've already got a sick venue picked out for the show and I'm very confident this can happen with some support from you guys.
